This instantly reminded me of my first reading of Beauty and the Beast as a child. Very interesting photo.

Sadly the castle was closed when I visited – so I don’t know what kind of beast is hidden there 🙂

Well, it was closed, so I didn’t find out who is hiding in there 🙂

What I like very much about this is the contrast between the dreamy upper part and the geometrical lower part, where the stretched verticals of the trees and bushes on either side are joined by horizontal lines running across a path which is itself the exact opposite of the meandering road that usually runs up the centre of a fairy tale picture.

When I had the idea about the picture I noticed that it was quite complicated and I had to slice it into more and more parts to create different areas.

I’m with Trifocal – it’s the juxtaposition of the path against the castle that makes the shot so interesting. Lovely
