Hello!
Maybe it is strange for me, because I do not believe in God ….and a hanging man on a great crucifix is a very aggressive symbol ….
I can not explain my thoughts about religion, because my English is very bad and I am not able to express my thoughts because that really would take hours for me.

Though I thought the motive also strange, because the statue was leaning against the veranda.

I am reminded of my first wife’s family (Romanian) who evoked images such as this all the time. They were food oriented, very rural.

An intriguing & powerful image. The stark washed out colour can be interpreted as death of sacred natural space being sacrificed for human consumption or if you have a strong negative reaction to the religious icon you might see it a spreading blight of ideology. This just emphasize hoe effectively you have used the strong archetypal imagery in your art to create a thought provoking composition. 🙂
