The rowboat seems to have ONBASI written on it. I found out that in Turkish the word onbaşı designates a military corporal.

Very well seen. I was considering removing that, but then I thought it fits the image perfectly.

Do you know what ONBASI designated? I suspect it wasn’t actually the Turkish the word onbaşı.

You’re right. It should mean “onbaşı”. I took the picture in Turkey and they sometimes don’t use the special characters when writing capital letters (or on the internet).

Oh that global-warming fueled sea level rise. Someone is finally feeling it further away than Tuvalu and Kiribati….. From the Pacific, I thank you.

I used to have a friend who traveled to Tuvalu a couple of times and is very worried, that the island might vanish sometime soon.
