Well, it was somewhat hot, I remember – that day always changed from rain to sun. But that was one of the sunny parts.

A woman after my own heart! i would totally rock the parasol when going around if I were not self-conscious and weary of drawing attention to myself

In the China Town neighborhood of Manhattan and also a few latin/hispanic corners of Queens and Brooklyn the women do carry umbrellas on sunny days but sadly it’s not become a trend yet. I’m counting minutes till it does since don’t have the guts to set the trend myself

Strangely, I saw something like that often in Cyprus – but it was only East Asian women carrying parasols (or, well, umbrellas as parasols).
Gladly I don’t have so many problems with the sun – at least with a good sun screen.
