How do you know it’s not happy?

I don’t know if it is happy or sad. Just that it is standing all alone at the cliff. 🙂

Gorgeous! What a captivating effect. I love how you created the edges – is that digital or old school darkroom work?

Thank you very much.
No, it is all digital. When I use smudges I usually create them on an empty layer and then mix it in the original picture. That way I think it looks more natural, or more like a part of the picture.

There is nothing more lonely than being lost in a forrest. Great shot of a happy tree relishing its solitude.

Eine sehr eigenartige Stimmung, wunderschön, karg und einsam. Und voller Stille.

Leaves and trunk give hope as defiant against most harsh elements. Use of black/white intensifies the effect.

The tree was really amazing, standing there all by itself.
