(Surfing slang sounds stupid coming from me, but the one word that really comes to mind is …) TUBULAR, man! Totally tubular.

    1. rabirius Avatar

      Thanks, Kim.
You could even argue, that the frames of the bikes are made of tubes 🙂

    there on the river 🙂

    1. rabirius Avatar

Well, there is a lot of space around the station for bikes.
That one was by the river though.

Wild place for first time bike riders…

        1. rabirius Avatar

Well, there are a lot of bikes in the Netherlands, but I had the feeling that they were riding with care…
…in Germany I experienced more crazy bikers, even though there are not as many. 🙂

          1. flahertylandscape Avatar

…unwritten rules of the road differ in every country, no?

          2. rabirius Avatar

            Yes, they most likely do.
The best place fore biking I actually found was Denmark. It is very friendly towards bikers. But the in the Netherlands it is good too.

          3. flahertylandscape Avatar

In the smaller towns, I’ve found the Swiss automobile drivers to be very respectful of bikes sharing the same roads…but tourist bike riders need to do a bit of online research to understand that tricky interface between motorised vehicles and bicycles on shared roads. Might be the same for every country.

          4. rabirius Avatar

            Most likely.
However, I encountered many bikers riding though desert and mountainous countries where people are not used to bikes on the road at all. I think that is pretty dangerous.

I hear that–had that same experience in the United States about ten years ago.

          6. rabirius Avatar

Yes, that county seems to be all about cars. 🙂
