Very cool. He looks like he is giving some sort of presentation. Did you actually paint the sky or is that from a photo of a painted sky?

      Thank you, Denise.
Well, the technique I’m currently using when processing my photos is duplicating the photo. I convert one copy to a monochrome image and other the other I paint with “digital colour” in photoshop. (Well, I actually use Affinity Photo at the moment, but the brushes are similar to the ones in photoshop”. The colours I sample from the original image. Then I put both versions on layers that I blend together. Certainly, there is a lot of work afterwards. Some parts I take from the original composite again, so some parts look more photographed. Sometimes I also erase some parts of the monochrome or painted-over version. That always depends on the photo. But, basically, I painted over the sky.

There are those who think they hold the keys for the rest of us… As they lend out to open our doors.. I was intrigued by your title Portunus, and looked him up… And was interesting also in reading of the closely related God named Janus… I wonder is this perhaps the way the name Janitor came into being… One whom maintains a building a doorman or door keeper .. with his many keys.. 🙂 Your post led me on a trail.. Thank you xx 🙂 have a great Sunday xx

      Thanks for your comment, Sue.
Well, I have also read about Janus, who is the God of beginnings and endings. Therefore, we got the month January that developed from his name. However, I don’t know if there is any connection to janitors. But maybe you have already found out something… If that is the case I’m curious to learn.

No, nothing found I just thought it curious as the names so closely related xx 😊

Probably a coincidence. One has to see where the words stem from. Maybe that will give a clue.

The process to create this ~ fascinating. Great piece, has me believing that every now and then, a ‘salesman’ is an artist and can open a door to something special 🙂
