I thought it was a picture from my country first (Bulgaria) 🙂 I can see from the tags its a neighbouring country 🙂
-
Yes, the picture was taken in Macedonia.
Bulgaria is still on my “To-Do-List”. I read a novel once that was playing in a mountainous area and the landscape must be incredible there. And I think Sofia is probably a great place to visit as well.Greetings,
rabirius.-
Rabirius, may I ask in which part of the world do you live? 🙂 Macedonia and Bulgaria rarely go in to-do-lists… so you got me so curious, you must be close to the region? 🙂
There are some incredible mountains in Bulgaria indeed… Rhodopes, Pirin and Rila in particular, which I hope to visit in the spring, now that winter is upon us… and Sofia is my hometown, it is not exactly shiny and glorious, but is full of history and charm that you just need to discover…-
I live in Germany at the moment – so Bulgaria would be about 2 hours by plane I think. If you consider this far or not I will live for you to decide.
When I travel, I usually want to see something – this is more relaxing for me than laying around on some crowded beach. And so I discovered that Eastern Europe has a lot of beautiful places and things to discover and slowly started to explore it bit by bit.
I like cities where you need to go out to discover their charm – so I think I will really like Sofia. 🙂-
Berlin-Sofia is exactly 2 hours and 10 minutes… been there recently 🙂 I guess it’s not only the proximity to the region, but also being inquisitive and curious 🙂 obviously you are… the whole region is really very interesting, it was not until I started travelling more that I discovered that Eastern Europe is just too broad a generalization, each country is very interesting in its own way 🙂 hope you find that yourself someday… make sure to let me know if you are coming over 🙂

Yes, I know that each country is different – and even different regions of one country. But in Western Europe I visited most countries, so they are not really new for me – but even there are a lot of new things to discover and old things to rediscover…
…I really need more time (and money) for traveling 🙂

I like it! Where is it?
-
It is Skopje, Macedonia.
Sorry – I didn’t see the other comments. Macedonia, huh?
-
If there is a place in the photo (with the montages it is always complicated to name a place, because sometimes there are too many :-)) I usually put it in the keywords…
…but I will also help out in the comment section 🙂
