Often wonder why English doesn’t say “downside up” as this describes the situation equally well!
-
I don’t know. Sorry, but I’m not English 🙂
But it would be interesting to know.-
It was only a rhetorical question, I don’t know and I am English! I must investigate what it is in other languages now…
-
…okay. Let me know what you’ll find.

Italian ‘sottosopra’ reverses the English order (‘under-over’, so literally ‘downside up’) but French just has ‘à l’envers’ or ‘reversed’. Dutch ‘ondersteboven’ and German ‘kopfüber’ are also equivalent to ‘downside up’. It’s looking as if English — again! — is marching in the opposite direction to the rest of Europe!

Thank you, Tina.
The yin and yang of garbage. I would have walked right by and never noticed.

The yin and yang of garbage is good…

rabirius, it lends itself to a different perspective- marvelous use of light and color.

Thanks a lot, Lance.
