“In the vast expanse between the known and the unknown,
we embark on a journey to discover strange new worlds
within ourselves and beyond.”
Embarking on another chapter of my book publishing journey, I ventured into the realm of Lulu.com for my latest creation. Utilising their cover editor alongside a dedicated book publishing program for the interior, I painstakingly crafted the visual and textual elements of my newest release, Strange New Worlds.
However, a minor hiccup occurred during the cover design phase, where the photo failed to align perfectly. A quick reordering of the proof copy rectified the issue, revealing an unchanged book upon arrival. As it turns out, a simple approval button could have spared me the trouble, a lesson learned for future endeavours.
However, due to my mononymous identity as rabirius, Lulu’s international distribution option became unavailable, similar to previous challenges I encountered when publishing 07 08 09 10 11 12. Despite this setback, there was a positive outcome: reduced distribution fees resulted in a more affordable price for you.
Strange New Worlds marks a return to form since my previous work, States of Being, showcasing a collection of my most popular images alongside newer additions. Notably absent are my recent explorations into the realm of gods and goddesses, a series still in progress, awaiting its moment of completion and publication.
Now, let’s delve into the heart of Strange New Worlds. Across its pages, you’ll traverse surreal landscapes where reality blurs and imagination reigns supreme. From cities cohabited by wild creatures to ethereal spectres haunting familiar spaces, each image invites you to explore realms that defy convention.

Structured into four captivating sections, Strange New Worlds offers a diverse tapestry of artistic expression. The monochromatic realms of the initial part evoke a vintage charm, while the images from the views | interrupted exhibition provide a glimpse into collaborative creativity.
Venturing further, you’ll encounter the artistic versatility of my band mockART in the third segment, featuring artwork created for the CD Men Who Lost Their Heads. Finally, immerse yourself in a world of vibrant hues, where experimentation with saturation and digital ink blurs the boundaries between painting and photography.
Strange New Worlds is more than just a book; it’s a testament to my creative evolution and the limitless possibilities of artistic expression. Join me on this mesmerizing journey through worlds both strange and familiar, where each composition tells a story of its own.
