Yes I humbly admit that much of my historical knowledge is gleaned from the Cinema including all the artistic liberties and extrapolation of the true facts :)~

What I missed in the Troy film is the conflicts in the world of the Gods, because it mirrors what’s happening in the actual war.
There are some good history books that are also thrilling to read. When I watch a historical movie, I’m usually at the book shop the next day 🙂

I read the Iliad a lot of years ago. But I think there are also retold versions that are not so long and are not written in the form of a poem. (Which makes translations sometimes a bit hard to read, if you don’t find a good translation.)
