Behind The Green Door is the only porn film I ever saw. That was 35 years ago or so, about 10 years after it came out. In porn years, BTGD is probably about as old as the building in the the photo.

If I remember correctly, there is a Green Door Bar in Berlin – but it has nothing to do with the picture. 🙂
Probably they are more common than we think. 🙂

This is a fascinating photo. First thing that caught my attention are the two stone blocks making up the lentil in the window. Since lentil is not arched with a capstone like the header in the doorway, there is no structural reason for the two blocks in the lentil to stay in place. But they have obviously been in place for hundreds of years. I really like how the architectural and street features all together makeup a colorful timeline from very old pavers in the sidewalk, gray streaked wall, weathered stonework, faded green door, more recently painted green window frames with plastic pots on the sill, to a new, bright red fire hydrant. All in an excellent composition.

Such great colors. That pop of the fire hydrant opposite the pair of greens and the mottled browns. Gee whiz. Gorgeous.
